Stories are one of yoga’s most powerful teachers, offering guidance that feels just as relevant today as it did thousands of years ago. In this workshop, we weave together myth, mantra and movement to explore the wisdom of one of the most beloved figures in the yoga tradition: Ganesha, the gatekeeper of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles.
Ganesha’s story reminds us that obstacles are not always meant to be avoided - they are often invitations to grow, refine our awareness and choose a wiser path forward. With his half-elephant form and steady presence, Ganesha teaches grounding, patience and the strength to move deliberately through life’s challenges.
Through storytelling, mantra chanting to Ganesha, a grounding Vinyasa Flow and a short guided meditation, you’ll be invited to embody his energy: stable, resilient and open to possibility. Our physical practice will emphasize strength, balance and connection to the earth, supporting both focus and inner steadiness.
Expect playful yet powerful sequences including Plank variations, Navasana, Lolasana and Eka Hasta Bhujasana (often called Elephant’s Trunk Pose), exploring how strength and softness can coexist. These postures invite us to meet effort with curiosity and to stay present when things feel challenging - on the mat and beyond.
This workshop is an invitation to pause, realign and step consciously into whatever comes next.
Come as you are. Leave grounded, focused and ready for new beginnings.

Two teachers, one beloved myth and more than a decade of shared dedication come together to bring the story of Ganesha to life. Michèle Melzer and Emily Pease unite their strengths in this co-taught offering, blending myth, mantra and movement into a grounded and intentional experience. Emily’s love of storytelling meets Michèle’s chanting and guitar, creating a practice that is both steady and inspired.
Rooted in years of teaching and personal study, Michèle and Emily guide a class that reflects Ganesha’s wisdom: cultivating strength, patience and clarity in the face of obstacles. Their collaboration invites you to explore new beginnings through sound, story and embodied practice - meeting challenge with presence and trust rather than force.
